The Lucky Afternoon Band!

The Lucky Afternoon appreciates all of you....our fans, friends, & followers (and dancers!!!) We'll be back next year 2026!!
Before all the pictures.... it's not about the band... The New Berlin Fire Company volunteers give so much to the community. They are good men and women risking their lives to save yours. We (the community) appreciate your generosity!
The New Berlin Fire Company volunteers do their part to raise funds, fight fires, protect your property, and risk their lives to save yours.... and don't get paid... they are giving, community minded men and women who serve the community. Even though volunteer firefighters do not live and work in a firehouse like career firefighters, they carry out the same kinds of emergency response duties and non-emergency tasks. Emergency firefighting duties are both challenging and physical. In emergency situations, volunteer firefighters should expect to extinguish and prevent fires as well as administer first aid.
The Fireman's Prayer He stares in the face of death, without a second thought to save that one special life, that he so bravely sought He has walked as close to "hell on earth," as any man could do and he's so proud of the job he did, for people he never knew He puts his life on the line, every time duty calls always doing what needs to done, without even a pause. He is a fireman with overwhelming pride never afraid to take a chance. When saving someone’s life often he says, "it's my job" But we really know that he is very special, always ready to go. So when you hear the sirens wail, or see the flashing lights stand aside and look with pride, he's going to save a life.
The carnival and other fundraising events...	...help pay for equipment

Duties also include rescuing victims from cars or buildings, carrying fire hoses up stairs or ladders, and breaking down doors.	Please support and donate to your local fire department - they may be using this equipment to pull you out of a crushed car or extinguishing a fire to save your family, home, property, or even your life!
Volunteer firefighters usually perform all of these tasks while wearing heavy protective clothing in dangerous, smoky and hot environments.

NBFC now has a drone they can use for residential and commercial fires as well as assisting the forestry with wildfires and especially search and rescue calls.	Assisting Law enforcement agencies is a specialty.

In Memory John Benfer served as the New Berlin Fire Company Chief for over 30 years. John passed Sept 2016. His unselfish service to the community along with other organizations such as the Relief Association and Scouting will be greatly missed. John was always a friend and enjoyed the Lucky Afternoon Band just as we respected and enjoyed John. We'll always remember you! Dave Stamm and the Lucky Afternoon Band
The Fire Police are also volunteers who serve the community. Some of their duties include: Traffic Control at Emergency Scenes, Scene Safety, Crowd Control and Liaison, Scene Security, Police Assistance, and Logistics.
Below are some of the unselfish volunteers who donate their time and energy as volunteer fire fighters AND those community volunteers dedicating their time working at the carnival.

Things were going great and the band was in the GROOVE!!! After an hour into the show, the "killer crowd clouds" decided to rear their ugly head. Many left but we appreciate all those who stated for the second show.

Our three "Lucky Sisters" Mel, Lissa, and Suzie donned their home-made, official "Lucky Afternoon Rain Gear" when the showers hit	After about 40 minutes, we were able to resume the show
